PATRIOTISM
To be patriotic means to be devoted, support, and defend one's country; national loyalty. Being patriotic is a key role in society. It’s what can make someone good, better and more respected. This is why everyone, important or not, should always be patriotic.
Patriotic characters include everyone who has fought and died for our country, firefighters, policemen, volunteer workers, army personnel, navy personnel, air force personnel, government officials, president, teachers, veterans of war, elderly people, citizens that answer the call of duty, garbage men, and many more.
Whenever someone does things for the country or someone else and doesn’t expect anything in return they are being patriotic. For example, when people “go green” or pick up trash they are being patriotic towards their country.
If patriotic characters weren’t visible in today’s world, we’d be in a bigger hole as a country than we already are. If it weren’t for government officials and teachers and other important patriotic people this country wouldn’t be as successful as it is today.
What do I think patriotism means? I think it means a countless amount of things. I think being patriotic means to appreciate, respect, love and most of all to support your country. If you support the troops, donate your time, sing the Star Spangled Banner and be proud to wave an American flag to show patriotism for the United States.
All in all, being a patriot means to appreciate one’s country and do everything you can tomake it the best possible place to live in by making it safe and clean. No matter what, everyone
should commit an act of patriotism, whether it is big or small, it all counts in some way. Therefore I
challenge you to be as patriotic as humanly possible and see what good comes in return.
